Our Donation Treatment Treatment Process at Vita Altera Cyprus IVF Center

First Consultation
You may visit Cyprus for a day or opt for a complimentary phone consultation for your initial discussion with one of our physicians at Vita Altera Cyprus IVF Center.
- Medical Background & Expectations: During the call, our doctor will assess your medical history and clarify your fertility goals.
- Previous Tests & Evaluations: If you have already undergone any relevant tests, we will review them. Based on the results, our doctor will propose the most suitable treatment option and explain the anticipated process.

Evaluation
For patients wishing to begin treatment in their home country, a gynecological examination is required. Please share all existing test results and medical records with our clinic. Once our medical team evaluates these details:
- Customized Protocol: We will create a personalized plan aligned with your ultrasound findings and medical background.
- Local Physician Oversight (Optional): If you prefer, a doctor in your current location can supervise your medication schedule and overall protocol, with direct input from our specialists.

Donor Selection
After discussing your expectations and preferences, our team identifies the most compatible donor. Donor selection is a crucial phase in the treatment:
- Extensive Donor Pool: We maintain a diverse donor bank representing various ethnicities, thoroughly screened for health, genetics, and more.
- Exclusive Genetic Tests: We are unique in Northern Cyprus in performing comprehensive carrier screenings (karyotype, cystic fibrosis, thalassemia, SMA, DMD, Fragile X, etc.).
- Sperm Donors: For sperm donation, we collaborate solely with internationally certified donor banks.

Treatment Process Overview
Egg Donation
If you have reached menopause, you may commence your protocol at any time. If you still menstruate:
- Uterine Preparation: Begins on Day 2 or 3 of your cycle (post-all tests and checks).
- Synchronization with the Donor: The donor’s stimulation starts concurrently, culminating in an egg retrieval under anesthesia after about 12–14 days.
- Egg Retrieval & Fertilization: On retrieval day, the male partner provides a sperm sample (if applicable), and fertilization ensues in our lab. The partner only needs to be present in Cyprus for the day of sperm donation.
Sperm Donation
For sperm donation cycles:
- Ovarian Stimulation: Begins on Day 2 or 3 of your cycle, continuing for about 12–14 days.
- Egg Retrieval: Performed when eggs reach maturity (trigger injection 36 hours prior).
- Laboratory Fertilization: Eggs are fertilized with donor sperm, matching your family’s physical traits and blood type.
Embryo Donation
Upon completing all examinations, uterine preparation commences. Regular check-ups ensure your endometrium develops properly. Meanwhile:
- Donor Egg Preparation: Lasts roughly 12–14 days.
- Egg Retrieval & Fertilization: On retrieval day, the selected sperm is used for ICSI (microinjection). This yields embryos ready for transfer to your uterus.

Embryo Transfer
After fertilization, we typically transfer embryos 4–5 days post-retrieval. The procedure:
- Painless & Quick: No anesthesia is required; a thin catheter gently places the embryo(s) into your uterus.
- Post-Transfer Instructions: We prescribe any necessary medications and recommend brief rest in our facility before you resume daily activities.
For donation treatments, a week’s stay in Cyprus typically suffices—covering the retrieval day to one day following embryo transfer. However, if scheduling is tight, the intended mother only needs to be at the clinic on transfer day, and if relevant, the intended father only on the egg retrieval day.

The Anticipated Moment
You can confirm your pregnancy outcome with a Beta-hCG blood test 12 days post-transfer. This test accurately determines implantation success and the early stages of pregnancy.
By adhering to this structured approach, Vita Altera Cyprus IVF Center aims to provide a seamless, reassuring treatment experience for everyone embarking on egg, sperm, or embryo donation journeys.
